HTC M7 image leaks, looks more like an iPhone

HTC M7 smartphone leaks through a rendered image

17 January, 2013 | Comments (111) | Post your comment
We have already seen the rumored specifications for the HTC M7, the company's upcoming flagship device and supposedly a replacement for the One X. Now we have a rendered image to go with it.
The rendered image looks strikingly similar to the BlackBerry L-series device that we have seen in the past, which itself sort of looks like the iPhone 5. The display is flanked by two colored plastic portions on the top and the bottom. Both areas have a rather pronounced grille area, with the top also housing the front facing camera and the various sensors. Unfortunately, this is the only picture we have for now.
The specs, as we had learned before, include a 4.7-inch, 1920 x 1080 resolution display with an incredible 468 ppi pixel density, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage space, 13 megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera and 2 megapixel front facing camera with 1080p video recording.
It is being rumored that the M7 will likely be announced at Mobile World Congress this year.

HTC M7 image leaks, looks more like an iPhone

admin January 16, 2013 HTC, News, Rumors No Comments

HTC is probably going through its worst nightmare as 2012 ended with the smallest profit in the last decade for HTC. HTC, once the number one smartphone maker is now far behind the market leaders like Samsung and Apple. HTC’s final hope rests on its Android flagship model, HTC M7.

The HTC M7 is going to be HTC’s flagship model for atleast H1 2013. In December 2012, HTC’s leaked document revealed the specifications of M7. The HTC M7 is expected to have a 4.7inch 1080p Full HD display of 468ppi(nearly 1.5times RETINA display’s ppi). Until today, there have been leaks only regarding the names and specifications of the HTC M7. But today we have an image(animated image) of the HTC M7 from a tutorial video that shows the process of inserting a SIM Card into the device. The rendered image is incomplete as there is no HTC logo. The final product may be different from this image, but we get an idea how the M7 might be.
HTC M7
The image is provided by evleaks who have always been accurate. From the image, one thing is clear. The HTC M7 looks a lot like the iPhone. The stunning resemblance cannot be ignored. We are also aware that HTC and Apple have some kind of a settlement going and so HTC could get away(not Samsung’s case).

HTC Desire X hands-on (video) Mobile

HTC Desire X hands-on (video) Mobile

HTC Desire X handson
Earlier this year, HTC spent much of its mobile bombast on that other major European conference: MWC. But that doesn't mean the company showed up to Berlin empty handed. In a closed door session today, the company demoed a flagship of sorts: the Desire X. The 4-inch handset, just recently announced, may look familiar -- that's because it lifts distinctive elements of the premium One series for a decidedly upscale spin on an entry-level device. With an 800 x 480 Super LCD display, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 8255 running Sense 4.1 atop Ice Cream Sandwich and a 5-megapixel rear shooter enhanced by the outfit's ImageChip, this first-timer device is anything, but average. Curious to see how this top-shelf budget phone fared in our testing? Then follow along after the break for some initial impressions.
Follow all of our IFA 2012 coverage by heading to our event hub!

HTC Desire X hands-on

We'd be remiss if we didn't immediately mention how attractive the Desire X is and much of that flair belongs to the One line its build is derived from. The device is extremely light in hand at 114 grams and is a real pleasure to hold. In fact, we were impressed by how comfortably our thumbs were able to rest upon the curved edges. On back, there's a 5-megapixel rear module outfitted with the same f/2.0 lens that debuted on the One line, giving users access to the same simultaneous video / photo capture, as well as one-touch continuous shooting.
As you'll note in the associated images, that 4-inch screen rises above the shell, but it doesn't prove an ergonomic nuisance as you might imagine. And speaking of that display, the reps confirmed to us that it is indeed laminated, thus reducing glare and allowing users to set brightness to minimum without compromising readability and saving battery in the process.
It should come as no surprise that the Desire X ships running Android 4.0.4 out of the box. We'd have liked to see a more progressive build on there -- say Jelly Bean -- but we were assured that HTC is currently "evaluating the tradeoffs in terms of user experience and hardware demands". Naturally, as this is an HTC smartphone, there's Sense 4.1 skinned atop the UI. It's mostly unobtrusive, much like we've found on the One series, and also packs in an added bonus for users: HTC Connect.

HTC Connect hands-on

Formerly only available to the One line, this partnership with Pioneer allows for DLNA peripherals to connect with any Sense 4.1 device via WiFi Direct. And as we saw in our testing, the setup and implementation is quick, simple and intuitive. After selecting the standalone speaker within the Music player's menu settings, our chosen track began playing immediately, allowing us to adjust volume and control playback from the handset.
Internally the Desire X is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 8255 buffered by 768MB RAM and though you might think the inclusion of that recent Qualcomm chip has the performance zipping along unperturbed -- well, you'd be wrong. Given, this is a budget handset, but the lag we noticed was not only heavily evident, it was also inconsistent. At times, it appeared as if the handset was revving up its clock speed from a sleepier state since transitions from the homescreen to app drawer and even app launches showcased a definite lag. This quirk also extended to the use of the navigation buttons at the base of the screen, leading us to believe the phone hadn't registered our touch.
Browser performance was much of the same, as pages loaded in about 20 seconds and then took a while to re-render when we attempted pinch-to-zoom. We managed to run Quadrant on the device and unsurprisingly the phone clocked in a comparatively low score of 2254, corroborating the sluggish real-world usage evinced. As always, however, we must remember that we're not playing with final firmware here, so this may not reflect the performance of the device once it's out.
All in all, its an attractive option for Android newbs looking for a stylish device with acceptable specs. The Desire X is set to launch internationally sometime this September for 299 Euros, but for those of you living in the UK, look for it to hit shelves at Virgin or Phones4U.

HTC Desire X pictured in the wild – full details leaked

27 August 2012 by Discuss (2)
Late last week some rumors started circulating about a device called the HTC Proto, that however is actually a device that has already been released. Today though we’ve got some clarification, as the device in question is actually the all new HTC Desire X and we have all the details. Check out the images and spec sheet below.

The Desire X certainly won’t be HTC’s best device, but this budget friendly phone has some decent qualities that might make it worth your dollar. As you can see below, specs include a 4.0-inch WVGA with a lowly 480 x 800 resolution display, an unknown (likely Qualcomm) 1.0 GHz dual-core processor, 768MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, and all this in a sleek and lightweight package sitting at 114g. Sized at 118.5 x 62.3 x 9.3 mm.
The spec sheet confirms we’ll have Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense UI 4.1, so that is a good sign considering only the “One” devices have officially received the new Sense UI while older phones get 3.6 instead. Sitting next to the HTC One X the device looks quite small, but still manages a decent 4-inch screen. We just wish the resolution wasn’t so low.
Given the specs this will surely be a very budget friendly smartphone from HTC. It looks to possibly be replacing the HTC One V, but we won’t know until HTC confirms everything. As you can clearly see HTC is still rocking the Beats Audio branding, and according to PocketNow this device will come in white and blue color options. Hopefully we see more than just this phone at IFA this week from HTC and I’m hoping their “phablet” makes an appearance. Stay tuned!

The phone is good with its features but there are a few big drawbacks. Firstly there is no front camera. With Skype integrated for windows, video calling won’t be possible on this phone. Moreover it has just 4 GB of internal storage of which only 1.6 GB is usable. It also lacks NFC. Windows Phone apps cannot be transferred to external memory. HTC Windows Phone 8S arrives in the UK with a modest price tag

07 December, 2012 | Comments (44) | Post your comment
The HTC Windows Phone 8S has arrived at the UK scene and is already available in several stores (both real and online). The phone aims to provide affordable entry into the tile-filled world of Windows Phone 8.
The best deal at the moment is offered by Three UK - you can grab the 8S for £180 off contract or free with a two-year contract starting from £17/month. This is for the Atlantic Blue model. Deliveries start Monday, December 10.
Clove UK also carry the HTC 8S but they have put a £225 price tag on it. Expansys UK and Amazon UK both have it at £240. That's for the Blue model again, though Expansys has the other color options on pre-order. Argos has the phone too, but at £300. We're just mentioning it in case they decide to start some promotion and cut the price significantly.
Anyway, if you prefer to get the Windows Phone 8S on contract but not on Three, you can head over to Phones4u, which has offers for Vodafone (£21/month), Orange (£28.50/month) and T-Mobile (£36/month). Carphone Warehouse also has deals for Vodafone.
